Dexter is a magnificent Shorthair with sterling conformation and substantial capabilities in the field.  Moreover, he is also very calm and amicable.  Shorthairs were bred to be versatile field dogs and loving companions and Dexter is a model of both.

Dexter’s dam is Champion Tuckoma’s Prairie Vixen.  Within Prairie Vixen’s lineage are Dual Champion Trekker v. Grunbaum, Dual Champion Hillhaven’s Hustler, Dual Champion and National Field Champion Erick v. Enzstrand, Champion and Kurzhaar Sieger Zobel v. Pregelufer, Champion Tabor’s Zephyr of Orion, Champion Kooskia’s Chief Timothy, Champion Kooskia’s Chief Joseph, Champion Adam v. Fuehrerheim, and the famed German Welt Sieger Ciro vom Bichtelwald.

Dexter’s sire is Kurzhaar Sieger Kristan vom Pöttsiepen.  Kristan’s pedigree reflects some of the most distinguished German lines of the twentieth century.  For example, the Hege-Haus Kennel of Germany was established during the era before the Second World War and it continues to be dominant.  Kristan’s pedigree contains many Shorthairs from the Hege-Haus Kennel, including Kurzhaar Sieger Blanc vom Hege-Haus and Kurzhaar Sieger Yetta vom Hege-Haus.  The famed Wasserschling Kennel of Germany also permeates Kristan’s lineage, with Kurzhaar Sieger Condor vom Wasserschling and Kurzhaar Sieger Tuck vom Wasserschling.  Significantly, Welt Sieger Ciro vom Bichtelwald is especially prominent in Kristan’s Pedigree.
